SKETCHES OF ANDALUCIA

 

  When I am in Andalucia I am overwhelmed by the clarity of the light and of the colours that surround me there. Mountains, vegetation, local produce such as fresh fish and vegetables, all of different colours inspire me to paint, trying to capture the atmosphere of such a beautiful part of Spain.      

  Through my  work in watercolour I try to share with others this feeling and I am reminded of Paul Klee when he wrote in his diary " Colour possesses me, it will always possess me".

  I am inspired by those vibrant colours and musicality of the people that I have encountered in the "Pueblos Blancos" over the years.

  By trying to paint what I see around me I search for a way to share the great pleasure and happiness I experience just by being there
